VICTORIA DOCK INTERMODAL TERMINAL

Gillon Consulting Group were engaged to design and document the first stage of this project for Westgate Ports and the following stages for Qube Logistics.

The key features of the project are as follows:

  • Heavy Duty Forklift Pavement
  • Container Wash Facility and Treatment Plant
  • Entry Gatehouse, Light Towers, Carparking and Site Amenities

PORT BOTANY TERMINAL – NSW

Gillon Consulting Group have been involved with the planning and redevelopment of the Port Botany Terminal since 2006. A major phase of the redevelopment is the expansion of the Terminal to include the 17.60 Ha “Knuckle” area and the conversion of the existing Straddle Terminal to an unmanned Autostrad® Terminal.

Works for the expansion and redevelopment of the existing terminal included the design and documentation of heavy duty pavements for Autostrads® and Reachstackers, Stormwater Drainage and Treatment Systems, Fencing, Conduits, Pits and Light Tower Foundations.

Autostrads® are unmanned Straddles that operate by a computerised Traffic Management System that controls the navigation and tasking of the automated Straddle in the container terminal.

PATRICK’S TERMINAL , FREMANTLE

Gillon Consulting Group were engaged to design and document the original port rail terminal (known as area D) as an expansion to the current terminal.

This area is the undeveloped site adjacent to the workshop as shown on the aerial photograph.

The project was designed for a forklift operation with a max. container stack height of four containers. As an additional requirement, the pavement was required to be designed to accommodate a future straddle operation.

PATRICK’S BERTHS 8, 9 & 10 TERMINALS,
FISHERMAN ISLANDS, BRISBANE

Gillon Consulting Group were engaged to design and document the $125 million Berth 10 expansion of Patrick’s Autostrads® Terminal in Brisbane.

Works included the design and documentation of heavy duty pavements for Autostrads® in the main terminal and for Forklifts in the adjacent Cargo Link Facility. Other features of the project were the Cargo Link Office and Amenities Building, AQIS Washbay, treatment plant and rainwater harvesting system, Substations and light towers.

Autostrads® are unmanned Straddles that operate by a computerised Traffic Management System that controls the navigation and tasking of the automated Straddle in the container terminal.

POTA INTERMODAL CONTAINER TERMINAL COODE ROAD, WEST MELBOURNE

CLIENT: P&O TRANS AUSTRALIA PTY LTD
Gillon Consulting Group were engaged to prepare planning drawings, contract, specification and to act as the Superintendent for the design and construct contract to develop the project.

Key features of the project are 9.0 Ha of heavy duty forklift pavement for the storage and handling of full containers, 520m rail siding, AQIS washbay and treatment plant, 160 reefer outlets and renovations to existing buildings.

PATRICK’S EAST SWANSON DOCK TERMINAL,
WEST MELBOURNE

East Swanson Dock was originally four single berths with seperate stevedoring managers for each berth. In 1993 the Port of Melbourne consolidated the four berths into a single terminal and awarded the redevelopment of the new consolidated terminal to Patrick Stevedores.

In 1995, Gillon Consulting Group were awarded stage 1 of the design and documention for the new terminal and continued with the design and documentation of stages 2,3 & 4 once stage 1 was completed. We are still involved with the continued redevelopment of ESD today.

DP WORLD’S WEST SWANSON TERMINAL,
WEST MELBOURNE

Gillon Consulting Group have been involved with the planning and redevelopment of the West Swanson Terminal since 2002. A major phase of the redevelopment involved the reconstruction and incorporation of the 4.0 Ha Tank Farm site into the current terminal.

Construction of the Tank Farm site commenced in December 2008 and was completed in early 2010. Gillon Consulting Group were engaged to design and document the project and provide the services of Superintendent for the construction contract.

Gillon Consulting Group have recently completed the design and documentation of the Coode Road Closure project. Construction is expected to be completed in mid 2019.

ROCKE BROTHERS CONCRETE PAVEMENT, TOTTENHAM

CLIENT: ROCKE BROTHERS
Gillon Consulting Group provided Civil Engineering and Superintendent services on this project.

The original concrete block paver pavement had failed prematurely and Gillon Consulting Group were engaged by Rocke Brothers to design and document a new concrete pavement for the failed pavement areas.

Once documented, we were engaged to provide Superintendent and Civil Engineering services to administer the contract and monitor construction to verify that the Contractor complied with the design and specifications during the pavement construction.

During construction, the legal action associated with the original pavement design required the management of additional testing to be carried out on the subgrade and original pavement.
