LILYDALE MARKETPLACE, LILYDALE

CLIENT: HACER GROUP PTY LTD
Gillon Consulting Group were engaged to provide Civil Engineering Services for the redevelopment of the Lilydale Marketplace Shopping Centre.

The site is located adjacent to a Melbourne Water Floodway and the planning permit required upgrading of the existing flood protection system to meet current requirements. This upgrade included the replacement of a concrete wall with a new earth rock floodwall on the eastern site boundary and a new concrete wall on the south boundary.

Other aspects of the project included the design of a new carpark access roadway and heavy duty concrete pavements and loading docks.

BRIGHTON BMW

CLIENT: ERA ARCHITECTS
Gillon Consulting Group were the Structural and Civil Engineering Consultants on this project, designed by ERA Architects for the Stillwell Motor Group.

The project comprised of a double storey sales and display area with the first floor concrete slabs suspended from the roof structure and provision of a car lift, Garage workshop and Administration area to the rear.

The clean architectural lines and large open spaces with few walls required rigorous design and careful detailing of roof and wall bracing to ensure the stability of the structure.

ST. BENEDICT’S PARISH CHURCH, BURWOOD

CLIENT: LAW ARCHITECTS
Working with Law Architects, Gillon Consulting Group provided Structural and Civil Engineering services on this project.

The project involved the complete restoration of a heritage listed mid-century Catholic Church in Burwood and the addition of a modern entry foyer and meeting rooms along with a new landscaped forecourt.

Many of the existing footings required underpinning and a significant number of retaining walls, steps and ramps were required for the entry forecourt and disable access.

CAMBERWELL LIBRARY & OFFICE DEVELOPMENT

CLIENT: ABIGROUP CONTRACTORS
Gillon Consulting Group provided Civil and Structural Engineering Services to this Design and Construct project during the Tender, Design and Construction Phases of this project.

The work involved the demolition of the internal elements of the original Auditorium and the construction of three office levels within the existing building. A new three level building was constructed in front of the original Auditorium.

The structure consisted of piles through the existing suspended ground floor slab and the steel columns and beams to support the new reinforced concrete floors.

2 & 4 NEXUS COURT, MULGRAVE

Both Buildings are similar and consist of six levels with two levels of shared basement carparking. The structure is a fully braced steel frame with composite concrete floor construction. The façade consists of a combination of double glazing and insulated light weight external cladding that contributes to the Buildings’ environmental characteristics.

The Building consists of six levels with two levels of basement carparking. The structure is a fully braced steel frame with composite concrete floor construction. The façade consists of a combination of double glazing and insulated light weight external cladding that contributes to the Building’s environmental characteristics.

FIVE MILE PRESS OFFICES AND WAREHOUSE, SCORESBY

Gillon Consulting Group provided Civil and Structural Engineering Services on this design and construct project.

Extensive racking was provided in the building for book storage with requirements for mininal deflections under high load. The floor was constructed on an engineered podium with a cement treated subbase to comply with those requirements.

TOYOTA PARTS & ACCESSORIES WAREHOUSE, ALTONA

CLIENT: TOYOTA AUSTRALIA PTY LTD
Gillon Consulting Group provided structural engineering services for the new parts and accessories warehouse at the Toyota manufacturing plant in Altona.

The facility was developed to consolidate existing warehousing into a state of the art storage and handling facility utilizing stock reduction measures.

The project consisted of a 15,000sqm warehouse, office, gatehouse, 170m long loading dock and an internal mezzanine floor of 1,300sqm to support racking over.

COLES MYER DISTRIBUTION CENTRE
HEATHWOOD, BRISBANE

CLIENT: SALTA CONSTRUCTIONS
Gillon Consulting Group provided structural and civil engineering services for the new Coles Myer Distribution Centre in Brisbane.

The project consisted of twin portal frame warehouses with a connecting canopy and significant civil works associated with circulation roadways, loading docks and truck hardstands. Due to significant site gradients, retaining walls up to 5 metres high were required to maintain workable grades and floor levels on the site.
